This past week, I taught my first craft class at Burime which is like an after school program for kids. Here it is more of a before school program because some kids don’t go to school until 1. I’ve been helping out with the morning craft class on Tuesdays for about a month but this was my first time leading.
I started with something easy because I wasn’t what they could do or how my language would hold up so I showed the kids how to draw a bird. And then taught them how to make an easy three step oragami butterfly. They turned out pretty well minus the fact that they ended up looking very similar to paper airplanes which was too good an opportunity to pass up for the boys. But I was pleased that the kids seemed to understand me since I gave the directions in English. Below are some of the kids with their butterflies!
