This week we are learning the history of the Balkan region. Yesterday, to kick things off, we went to Kruja, about an hourish away. We were able to visit two museums and learn about Albanian’s most famous hero, Skanderbeg.
In a nutshell, he was taken as a kid and trained in the Turkish army (who had control over Albania). He came back when he was a little older and helped lead the Albanian people to their freedom.
