We took an Orangeways bus. It was the worst travel experience of my life. Unfortunately, this was the only way to get from Krakow to Budapest by bus. They arrived over an hour late – with two busses. I don’t know if they overbooked or what but everyone took off to the first bus which was unmarked & sketch. Nicole & I waited for the second one which at least had Orangeways written on it. It was crowded, people were fussing at each other, the driver was yelling at everyone, it was chaos getting on the bus. But at least it had air conditioning – at least until the driver decided to blast the heat. We were drenched in sweat the whole way because it was so hot and stuffy. We did stop once for a bathroom/snack break. I think it would be well worth it to go to another city and then to Budapest just so you don’t have to take this ridiculous busline. Orangeways is horrible.

Things to do if you find yourself in Budapest:
1) Visit the Fisherman’s Bastille. Cost: Free if you look from the outside. It’s quite cool because it looks like a sandcastle!
2) Visit the castle & church. Cost: Free. The church was my favorite. Mainly because of the roof.
3) Walk around town after you visit the church. The town has some really cool houses & doors & colors that are fun to check out.
4) Segway tours. This was my first time on a segway but it was so much fun I would reccomend them to anyone – even if it’s not in Budapest.
5) Walk across the chain bridge. It is a really long bridge with cars but they have a pedestrian lane on either side.
Check out Budapest in photos!
