I am very thankful for my partner in crime, Nicole! She has been one of the biggest blessings since Albania has become a part of my life. We started out as strangers but I’m pretty sure we became friends 5 minutes (if that) after we first met.
Not only have we gotten along since we first met at training in 2010 but we started the journey to Albania together and arrived in Albania together. Being able to have someone going through the same things as me at the same time has been a major blessing. Because we are experiencing everything together for the first time, we are able to completely understand what the other person is feeling and going through. We have been able to process and help each other process everything together.
I am also thankful that Nicole is an awesome person. Because, in this culture, girls are never really alone or do anything alone, so we spend a lot of time together in addition to living together. Because she is so awesome, I have yet to get tired of being around her so much. (I’m not sure if it’s true the other way around!)
I love living the Albanian life with Nicole because everything’s an adventure. And if it’s not, we can make it one. We’ve been on a lot of small, medium, large, short, long, fun, planned, unplanned and crazy adventures (really the list could go on and on).
I can’t wait to see what adventures are in store for us in the coming months!
