Nicole was coming down to Macon, Georgia along with a few others from her church for a missions trip. So thankfully it worked out so that Nicole could come down a week early and stay with me! You can’t even imagine all the fun we had. We were live tweeting our adventures in case you missed out. But here’s a quick recap of our week.
Of course the first thing we had to do when we got back from the airport was take a picture so people would actually believe the dynamic duo was back together!
Then we headed downtown to the World of Coca-Cola via MARTA.
We were planning on walking around downtown but it was pretty cold & windy.
But that didn’t stop us from having fun.
We just took our fun indoors…where it was a bit warmer. On the walk back to the MARTA station, we went through Centennial Olympic Park. I still don’t understand why there is a ferris wheel but no fair?
I stopped to see what this man had to offer. I mean, he was practically on one knee already. But it wasn’t much so my search continues.
When we were walking back to the car, we saw this license plate.
Totally random but looking back I think it was a foreshadowing of the Southeast Wesleyan tour I ended up giving Nicole. We went to 12 Stone, Southern Wesleyan University, Amazing Love performance at Trinity Wesleyan & Hephzibah Children’s Home.
We also went to a coffee cupping at Land of a Thousand Hills so Nicole & I are basically coffee tasting professionals. We learned that you must slurp coffee as loud, long & ridiculously as possible so you can taste all the flavors.
We also got to see where they roast the coffee and learned a lot about making, brewing, grinding, tasting & pretty much everything coffee. It was a lot of fun and it’s a great fair trade coffee company. They work a lot with churches, so if your church needs coffee check them out here!
We knew Easter was coming up so of course we had to dye Easter eggs!
This little guy just had brain surgery though!
Then we were off to North Carolina so I could show Nicole my hometown of Old Fort!
Of course we had to go on the train at the station!
All aboard!
Then I surprised Nicole with our very own Andrew’s Geyser!
I also had to show her my favorite part of where I grew up – the mountains!
So we went up to Mt. Mitchell – the highest point east of the Mississippi.
Then we headed off to South Carolina so she could see the rest of my family. But really my nieces.
Then Easter Sunday we decided to go to the sunrise service at Stone Mountain. And boy was it worth it!
We got to the top just as the sun was getting up to the mountain.
It was really windy at the top which made it cold.
But there were a lot of people who came out. It was awesome to be a part of!
Then Nicole & I headed back down and went in search of breakfast. IHOP hit the spot!
After breakfast we went to the Easter service over at 12 Stone. It was a great service and the location we went to was packed with no seating in their main auditorium, their 2 small auditoriums or in the hallway!
I had heard about this church but had never been to it. I was definitely impressed! They had welcome bags for first time guests which included a giftcard for a free coffee in their Starbucks. Because they have a Starbucks inside their church building. And it’s quite large too. So Nicole & I enjoyed a coffee after a great service!
One of my favorite parts about the week was that I finally got to play lots of games! Nicole & I played in our spare time – everything from cards to Yahtzee to word games to Gubs.
I had a great week with Nicole filled with adventures, laughter and fun fun fun!
Luckily I didn’t have to say goodbye. I had one more week with her because I tagged along with the team from her church to help out down at Hephzibah Children’s Home!
