Last week I spent the day at Stone Mountain Park. I had been there several times now – once for a weekend summer music festival & once for an Easter sunrise service. I had been to the top of the mountain on each occasion and had explored the campground area. This time, I went adventuring on a little island that had a walking trail. The trail wasn’t that difficult which is good considering a lot of families with kids come! But it was a nice little .75 mile walk around the small island. The light while I was there was absolutely gorgeous – not to mention some cool trees I found!
After I explored the island, I settled down with a good book, a journal & my picnic dinner. This was my view for most of the evening.
It was an awesome break from the city. The only sounds you heard were water, an occasional fisherman & kids playing & laughing. It was a great way to relax and unwind. And there are a lot more areas to go exploring in next time!
