It’s Christmas – the season of miracles. So it should be no surprise that I’ve been thinking a lot about miracles lately. I grew up reading stories about all the miracles God did – not just at Christmas – but since the beginning of time. Even now I believe God can do miracles. But is that enough? Is it enough that I believe God can do miracles?

There’s a difference between believing God can do miracles and believing God will do miracles. I don’t think God wants me to just believe he can – that he’s capable of doing miracles. He wants me to believe he will do miracles.

When I believe God will do something, I tend to live in anticipation – eagerly waiting and watching – because I am expecting God to do something. I know it’s going to happen. It’s kind of like Christmas. Kids get so excited about Christmas because they know it’s coming. They know they will be given gifts. They may not know everything they are getting, but they know they are going to get something good! It’s just a matter of time. And so they wait. They wait with excitement, expectancy & anticipation until they can open their presents.

Like kids at Christmas, I want to live in anticipation – expecting God to do miracles. So I’m going to hold on to God’s promises and not just believe that he can but that he will fulfill those promises by way of miracles as I live in anticipation – waiting, watching, expecting to see big miracles from God.
