The highlight of Kotor for me was hiking up to the old fortress. There was a path with steps you could follow that zigzaged up the mountain to the top where you can see the flag flying.
Before you started, there was a sign saying it wasn’t for the faint of heart. We didn’t think it’d be THAT bad. So we started out in high spirits but soon, we realized that it was going to be a long hike up.
We made it about halfway up. The view was gorgeous! We couldn’t wait to see what it looked like from the top!
So we kept going and going but felt like we’d never reach the top! We asked ourselves many times, “Are we there yet?!”
Finally we reached the top! Success!
But there wasn’t much to the fort at the top.
Even the view was about the same as the halfway point!
So if you want to make the trek for the views, go halfway. If you want to feel like you accomplished something, go all the way to the top!
Kotor also has a thing with cats. They are everywhere.
But it’s a beautiful city right on the water!
You can take advantage of the docks and stick your toes in the water.
And watch the boats come in.
Yes. Kotor is a beautiful city with lots of pretty things to see & take pictures of.
