Leg #14: Sofia, Bulgaria –> Sandaski, Bulgaria

Transportation:
Took taxi to bus station
–Cost 4 lev
Took bus to Sandaski
–Cost 2.5 lev
Took taxi to hotel
–Cost 2.5 lev

The bus ride was uneventful. The Sandaski bus station is really small – one room. We were afraid we wouldn’t be able to find a taxi to get to our hotel but there were plenty of them on the other side of the station.

Lodging:
Hotel Pirin Park
–2 nights
–$89.61/person for 2 nights

The hotel was really nice! Probably the only time I will be able to afford to stay in a 5 star hotel! We definitely looked out of place walking in grungy from travelling and with our dirty backpacks. We never left the hotel. They had a couple different restaurants & pools so that’s all we needed.

Food:
Meals – 34.61 lev
Coffee –
Snacks –

Sandaski Total – 96.3€

This was a rest stop. We stayed at a 5 star hotel and relaxed because we knew we would have a long trip from Greece to Albania and then from Albania back to the States. So we relaxed by the pool and did a whole lot of nothing. We didn’t leave the hotel and not just because we would have had to take a taxi!
