Leg #3: Kotor, Montenegro –> Dubrovnik, Croatia

Transportation:
Took 8:30am bus to Dubrovnik
–Arrived around 12:30am
–Cost: 14€
Took city bus from bus station to Old Town
–Cost: 15 Kuna/2€ (1 way)
–Arrived in about 15 minutes

The bus was direct to Dubrovnik with 1 border crossing. We were told you can buy tickets on the city buses but only if the driver has them. When we were heading back to the bus station, the driver didn’t have any tickets and we had to buy them from a ticket stand.

Lodging:
Fresh Sheets Hostel
–2 Nights
–Cost: 540 Kuna/71.95€/person for 2 nights

Fresh Sheets was really nice. We had to walk a ways to get to it but once we made it they had cold drinks waiting for us! We stayed in a private room which turned out to be really awkward because it was a couple blocks over. In a lady’s house. And we shared a bathroom with her. We didn’t realize all that when we booked online. But they had a pretty good breakfast – you just had to walk back over to from the apartment to where the hostel actually was.

Food:
Meals – 99.2 Kuna
Coffee – 22 Kuna
Snacks – 11 Kuna

You must try Cavapa while you are here – especially if it is from Presa.

Tourist Things:
Cable Car – 94 Kuna
Stamps – 14 Kuna
Postcards – 12 Kuna

Really the only things to do in Dubrovnik is go to the beach, take the cable car or explore old town.

Dubrovnik Total: 123.43€

Things you should do if you find yourself in Dubrovnik:
1) Go to the beach. The water is amazing. We went to EastWest beach club but if you walk past all the chairs and turn the corner, there are tons of rocks you can climb and sit on (and not pay for a chair). It was really nice too because it was more secluded so there weren’t as many people that would venture that far over.

2) Eat at Presa. The food was really good and cheap. I got fries with a cevapa burger which was huge! You definitely get your money’s worth at Presa.

3) Avoid the cable car. The cable car is overpriced and you don’t even get a good view of the city. The cafe/restaurant at the top is way overpriced and will break your budget. The only thing that made us glad we went was to see a gorgeous sun set about a 10 minute walk away from the cable car to a field.
